Finding your airport pickup point

Choose the airport that matches your flight. Check the supplier’s pickup instructions before travelling; your booking voucher confirms the desk, shuttle or meeting point.

Airport pickup is not one single handover method

Depending on the supplier, airport pickup can mean an in-terminal desk, meet-and-greet, parking-area handover or shuttle to an office. Read the exact pickup instructions before travelling.

FAQ

Common questions

What does the three-letter airport code mean?

An IATA code identifies an airport. For example, ATH is Athens, CHQ is Chania and HER is Heraklion.

Does an airport page guarantee terminal pickup?

No. The exact desk, meeting point, parking area or shuttle arrangement is shown in the supplier terms and booking voucher.

Use the flight code to select the pickup location

Match the three-letter code on your flight confirmation with the airport in the table before opening a rental search. A city name can describe several different collection arrangements, including a city office or hotel delivery. The code identifies the airport; it does not identify the rental company’s desk or guarantee that its office is inside the terminal. Keep the booking voucher’s meeting instructions with your flight details.

Crete has more than one arrival airport

CHQ identifies Chania, HER identifies Heraklion and JSH identifies Sitia. Choose the one on your ticket rather than a general Crete location. A booking collected at one airport and returned at another needs an explicitly confirmed one-way arrangement. Similarly, a hotel near a different town does not change the airport where the supplier expects to meet your flight.

Some airport names differ from the holiday destination

PVK refers to Aktion, serving the Preveza–Lefkada area; it is not an airport on Lefkada itself. MJT is Mytilene on Lesvos. VOL identifies Nea Anchialos for the Volos area, while GPA identifies Araxos for the wider Patras region. Allow for the actual onward drive when comparing flights. A destination name used in advertising can cover a much larger area than the terminal location.

An island airport code is not a ferry-port code

PAS is Paros Airport and JNX is Naxos Airport; neither means collection at the ferry harbour. JTR is Santorini Airport, while a ferry arrival uses a separate port location. If travel plans switch from flying to sailing, contact the supplier before assuming the meeting place will change automatically. The same principle applies to returning a car near a port after collecting it at an airport.

Build a clear arrival message for the supplier

Provide the airport code, flight number, arrival date and the mobile number you will use during travel. Ask where the representative or shuttle meets passengers and what happens after a delay. Do not use the scheduled landing time as a promise that you will be ready to drive then: baggage collection and the rental inspection take additional time. For return, save the office or parking entrance separately from the airport terminal pin.
