| Payment | What it covers | Check before booking |
|---|---|---|
| Advance payment | Part of the rental price | Amount, accepted method and cancellation conditions |
| Balance at pickup | Remaining rental price and chosen extras | Accepted methods and the amount due |
| Security deposit | A separate guarantee | Amount, collection method and release conditions |
| Excess | Your potential share for a covered event | Amount after optional protection and the exclusions |
Three payments to check
Your booking may involve an advance payment, a balance at collection and a security deposit. A method accepted for one is not necessarily accepted for the others. Read the complete payment conditions instead of relying on the booking button alone.
Debit cards and cash are offer-specific
A no-credit-card offer may accept cash, a debit card or another listed method. Check cardholder requirements, supported card types and the supplier’s instructions. Never assume every debit or prepaid card qualifies.
Search with the right filter
This page starts with the no-credit-card filter. Set your destination and dates, then compare the payment details for each car. If you also need a zero deposit, apply that filter separately and check the final combination of terms.

Can I rent a car in Greece with a debit card?
Selected offers may accept a debit card. Check that the permission applies to your exact car, pickup location and dates. The card network logo alone does not establish acceptance. Read any requirements for a physical card, the main driver’s name, expiry date and available funds. If the terms do not answer your situation, get confirmation through the booking service before paying.
Cash payment at pickup is a separate condition
An offer that accepts a cash balance may still require an online advance payment by card. It may also specify a different method for the security deposit. Check the currency and the amount due at collection. Do not assume that a cash balance makes the complete booking a cash-only rental.
Prepaid, virtual and another person’s cards
Do not treat a prepaid card or a phone wallet as an accepted physical debit card unless the offer explicitly permits it. The same applies when someone else pays for the reservation: that does not establish which card or named cardholder must be present at pickup.
Combining no credit card, no deposit and zero excess
Check all three conditions in the same offer. First select a car with an accepted payment method. Then verify the security deposit and the excess after any optional protection. Include paid upgrades in the total. If there is no matching offer, compare a different car, nearby collection point or different dates only if those changes fit your trip.
