Cash payment

Cash can be accepted for the remaining balance on selected offers. Do not assume this means the entire reservation can be made without an online payment, or that a security deposit can also be left in cash.

Debit cards

Debit-card acceptance depends on the supplier and the purpose of the card. Some offers accept debit cards for the balance but require a different method for the security deposit. Check cardholder, embossing, online-payment and available-funds requirements.

Credit cards and pre-authorisation

Where a credit card is required, it can be used to secure the deposit through a pre-authorisation. Make sure the main driver/cardholder rule, available credit and release timing fit your trip.

No-credit-card filters

A no-credit-card option is useful, but it should be read together with the deposit and payment fields. No credit card does not automatically mean cash-only, zero deposit or zero excess.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I pay cash for car rental in Greece?

Selected suppliers may accept cash for the remaining balance at pickup. An online advance can still be required.

Can I use a debit card?

Selected offers accept debit cards. Check whether the debit card is accepted for the booking payment, pickup balance and security deposit.

Why can an offer say no credit card but still ask for a card?

The booking service and the rental supplier can have different payment steps. Read which payment method applies to the online advance, remaining balance and deposit.

Is a deposit a payment?

Not necessarily. A card pre-authorisation can be a temporary hold rather than a completed payment.

Keep a small payment record

Save the advance receipt, the amount due at pickup and the deposit condition in one place. Add optional extras only after checking whether they are paid online or to the supplier. This makes it easier to identify a legitimate balance payment and avoid paying an advance twice. If another passenger pays the reservation, verify whether the main driver still needs their own card at collection. Resolve any name mismatch before travelling.
