Do I need a car for central Athens?

It depends on your itinerary. If your plans focus on the centre, consider hiring only for the days you leave the city and check parking at your accommodation.

Is an airport pickup the same as city pickup?

No. Review the location, hours and collection instructions for the option you choose. Use the Athens Airport page when you are collecting after a flight.

Can I rent a car in Greece without a deposit?

Selected offers may have a zero security deposit. Use the no-deposit filter and read the car’s terms. A paid protection option may be required. A zero deposit does not automatically remove every liability or mean no advance payment.

Can I book without a credit card?

Some rental companies accept another payment method. Use the no-credit-card filter and check the accepted method for the booking payment, the balance and any deposit. These can be different.

Is full insurance included in every rental?

No. Included protection and optional upgrades vary. Review the excess, covered events and exclusions. A description such as full coverage does not mean every incident or use of the car is covered.

Can I pick up after a late flight?

Enter your expected arrival time and check the supplier’s hours, out-of-hours fees and flight-delay procedure. Use the contact and instructions on your booking voucher if your plans change.

Can I book child seats?

Can I take the car on a ferry?

Get written permission from the rental company before making a ferry booking. Check whether the route is allowed and whether protection applies during transport and on the destination island.
