Unlimited mileage car rental in Greece
Unlimited mileage is useful for road trips, but not every vehicle or supplier uses the same mileage rule.
What matters most
What unlimited mileage means
When an offer states unlimited mileage, the normal rental terms do not set a kilometre allowance for ordinary permitted driving during that rental. It does not cancel geographic restrictions, ferry rules, cross-border limits or prohibited-road clauses.
When a mileage-limited offer can still work
A limited offer may be perfectly suitable for a short island stay or a city-based trip. Estimate your likely driving, add a buffer for detours, then compare any excess-kilometre rate with the price difference to an unlimited offer.
Road-trip planning
For mainland itineraries, multi-region trips and long Crete drives, mileage becomes more important than it is for a short resort rental. Check both the allowance and whether the supplier restricts specific roads, islands or border crossings.
Common questions
Does unlimited mileage mean I can drive anywhere?
No. Ferry, border, off-road and geographic restrictions can still apply.
Can a rental have a total mileage cap instead of a daily cap?
Yes. The exact allowance can be expressed per day or for the entire rental.
Where do I find the excess-kilometre price?
Check the live vehicle conditions and final rental agreement before booking.
Work out your likely distance first
List the airport transfers and the longer outings before choosing a mileage allowance. A daily limit may be calculated per calendar day, rental day or as a total allowance; ask which applies to the offer. Multiply the included kilometres by the confirmed rental period and compare that figure with your planned itinerary. Unlimited mileage does not grant permission to leave the island or country. Photograph the odometer at collection and return so any mileage calculation can be checked against the agreement.
